Mecca: The New York City Graffiti Chronicle
Felisbret is currently directing Mecca: The New York City Graffiti Chronicle, a feature-length documentary on the history and evolution of the NYC graffiti movement. Centering on New York as an unparalleled incubator for culture, the film features influential figures such as Cey Adams, Lee Quiñones, John CRASH Matos and Henry Chalfant, alongside photographers, journalists, historians, museum curators, politicians, and members of law enforcement. It also spotlights present-day audacious graffiti artists who carry the rebellious spirit forward. Shot by Emmy Award–winning cinematographer Sam Henriques, the project blends narration, animation, archival footage, and contemporary scenes to capture the movement’s enduring power.
